FC Bayern isn’t expected to make many more signings this transfer window. However, the Munich club still has some work to do when it comes to player departures. João Palhinha, Sacha Boey, and Bryan Zaragoza are the three players most likely to be sold. President Herbert Hainer is confident that there will still be some movement on the roster before Deadline Day.
Sports director Max Eberl has about three weeks left to further trim the roster for the new season. While no major activity is expected on the incoming front beyond the final signing of Bara Sapoko Ndiaye, additional players are set to leave the record champions.
At the top of the list are Palhinha, Boey, and Zaragoza. However, finding suitable buyers for all three players is proving to be complicated.
One reason for this is the financial situation. In addition to a transfer fee, interested clubs must also cover the Bayern players’ comparatively high salaries. At the same time, the Munich club would prefer to sell the players outright if possible, rather than loan them out again.
Hainer Confirms Interest in Bayern Stars
On the sidelines of the Bayern women’s 2-0 friendly against Paris FC at Sportpark Unterhaching, Herbert Hainer commented on the current situation. “We still have three weeks left, and there’s interest from many clubs. It’s a tough negotiation. But I’m optimistic that we’ll see some movement there,” explained the Bayern president.
A departure in the near future seems particularly realistic for Palhinha. The Portuguese midfielder currently commands the highest market value among the three players up for sale. Aston Villa, Benfica Lisbon, and Newcastle United are reportedly interested.
Things are looking more difficult with Boey and Zaragoza
The situation with Zaragoza is more complicated. Although there have been inquiries from his home country for the Spaniard, these have so far primarily involved potential loan deals.
There’s also no quick solution in sight for Boey at the moment. The right back certainly impressed during preseason, but he apparently still doesn’t play a central role in Munich’s long-term plans.
For Eberl, this marks the start of the decisive phase of the transfer window. The sporting director has already managed to find solutions for Alexander Nübel and other players. Now, the goal is to secure permanent transfers for Palhinha, Boey, and Zaragoza as well.
Hainer is apparently also banking on the momentum of the final weeks of the transfer window. Especially just before Deadline Day, the priorities of many clubs can shift once again. Bayern hopes to capitalize on this with regard to their players on the transfer list.
