Ahead of the Champions League clash between FC Bayern and Paris Saint-Germain, an unusual hotel decision has caused a stir: the Munich team have snatched their opponents‘ accommodation without further ado.
When PSG won the Champions League in May 2025, the team stayed at the Hotel Infinity in the Munich suburb of Unterschleißheim – accommodation that had been allocated to them by UEFA at the time. This time, however, the French team were denied access.
The reason: FC Bayern has secured the hotel itself. The four-star hotel has been Munich’s regular day hotel before home games for years and is only around 20 kilometers away from the Allianz Arena. The record champions did not want to be deprived of this familiar environment ahead of the semi-final second leg.
Coach Vincent Kompany made the club’s stance unmistakably clear: „This is our city! We are at Infinity,“ he said at the press conference before the 3:3 against Heidenheim. Sporting director Christoph Freund also underlined the decision: „We are not giving up our home hotel! This is our home game and our city!“
According to the French newspaper L’Équipe, PSG would have liked to use the accommodation again, but Bayern remained firm – there were no negotiations.
PSG switches to luxury hotel
Originally, the well-known Hilton at Tucherpark was also an option, but this is currently being renovated and is not available.
Instead, PSG are now moving to another luxury hotel. According to BILD, coach Luis Enrique’s team will be staying at the Andaz design hotel at Schwabinger Tor – also well connected to the Allianz Arena.

Perhaps a bad omen: before the Champions League final last year, PSG’s opponents Inter Milan stayed here – and lost the final 5-0.
The French side’s schedule ahead of the clash against Bayern is tight: after landing in Munich, they will go straight to their hotel before the official press conference and then the final training session in the stadium in the afternoon.
