Alphonso Davies, who has been struggling recently, will probably be fit in time and could become an important option for coach Vincent Kompany
At the press conference ahead of the game against 1. FC Heidenheim, Kompany was cautiously optimistic about the Canadian international’s situation. The Bayern coach explained that Davies is heading in the right direction and that the final decision will be made at short notice: „Phonzie normally trains with the team again today when he feels well. He felt a bit of something in the game against PSG, so there was this decision at half-time.“
Although Kompany did not want to commit himself definitively, his statements suggest that a start in the Champions League second leg against Paris is quite realistic: „The tests were all positive.“ Davies could well get minutes against Heidenheim on Saturday: „We’ll see what happens at the weekend,“ said Kompany
Only trained individually recently
Davies picked up an injury in the 5-4 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain and was substituted at half-time.
