The transfer market is once again focusing on Bryan Zaragoza, with many signs pointing to a short-term solution at FC Bayern Munich. A top Italian club is pressing ahead with talks.
The attacking player is still under contract with FC Bayern, but has been on loan to Celta Vigo since the summer of 2025. As things stand, Zaragoza could return to Munich in the summer of 2026, but this is precisely the scenario that the team at Säbener Straße would like to avoid.
According to information from Italy, AS Roma are working on a new model. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A club are offering two million euros for a loan until the end of the season. A purchase option of 13 million euros is also planned. In order to make the transfer possible, Celta Vigo are said to have already received a compensation payment for the early termination of the current loan. The personal terms with Zaragoza have therefore been clarified. According to the report, the deal is considered likely and could be completed today.
Yesterday, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reported that Roma had already initiated concrete steps. Romano also confirmed Zaragoza’s willingness to move in principle.
Zaragoza has lost his regular place

A look at the sporting situation explains the interest in a change. In the current La Liga season, the winger has made 19 appearances so far, scoring one goal and setting up another. Recently, however, the Spaniard has lost his regular place and has mostly only come on as a substitute.
The development is not unimportant for Bayern. Although the loan to Vigo includes a purchase obligation, this only applies if Zaragoza has completed at least 60 per cent of the possible playing time in the league, cup and Europa League at the end of the season. It remains to be seen whether this mark will be reached – and Munich are correspondingly willing to discuss alternatives.
Under Vincent Kompany, Zaragoza does not play a sporting role in the plans. A return in the summer of 2026 is not considered a realistic option internally. A further loan deal with a clearly defined purchase option would give the record champions the opportunity to sell the player in a structured manner and in line with the market.
Roma are specifically looking for pace and one-on-one quality on the wing, and Zaragoza fits this profile, which is why negotiations have recently gained momentum. Whether the deal is actually finalized today now depends on the formal agreement of all parties involved.
