Konrad Laimer has signed a long-term contract extension with FC Bayern. The new contract also comes with a pay raise.
By extending Konrad Laimer’s contract through 2029, FC Bayern has sent an important signal for the future. The Austrian national team player is one of the team’s key contributors under Vincent Kompany and is expected to continue in this role in the coming years.
As Sky now reports, the extension will also pay off financially for the 29-year-old. According to the report, Laimer could earn an annual salary of more than ten million euros in a particularly successful season, including bonus payments.
It had already been reported that the Munich club would grant the midfielder a pay raise as part of the contract extension. However, the adjustment is expected to remain within the club’s internal salary structure.
A reward for a key player
Contract negotiations had dragged on for several months and were even considered difficult at times. In the end, however, both sides reached an agreement. Laimer’s consistently strong performances last season were the decisive factor.
Sporting Director Max Eberl expressly praised the Austrian following the official announcement: “We’re delighted that Konny will continue his journey with FC Bayern. He’s the very definition of reliability at the highest level, and with his skills and character, he’s an important part of the team. He’s a player who inspires and motivates others—every single day.”
Laimer also made it clear how comfortable he feels in Munich: “For me, it’s something very special to take the field in the FC Bayern jersey. I’ve often emphasized how happy I am in Munich and that it’s a lot of fun to play soccer on this team.”
The 29-year-old went on to explain: “I’ve felt that way here from day one. I can help the team in many different roles and want to continue giving my all for FC Bayern every single second. With this team, anything is possible, and I’m already looking forward to the season starting again.”
