A 17-year-old top talent from Serbia is in the focus of FC Bayern. Vasilije Kostov is said to have aroused the interest of the Munich club, but a transfer could be expensive. Arsenal are apparently also involved.
The German record champions are apparently watching Vasilije Kostov and have already made enquiries with his club. As reported by the Serbian Telegraf, FC Bayern have made contact with Red Star Belgrade. The club is demanding around 20 million euros for the central midfielder, who celebrated his breakthrough this season.
Kostov is one of the most exciting attacking players of his age. On 11 October, he made his debut for the Serbian senior national team against Albania – a remarkable step at this age. The teenager has already played 27 competitive games for Red Star and has scored six goals and provided five assists. According to the Serbian report, Arsenal FC are also interested in the youngster. A transfer would be possible in the summer at the earliest, as soon as Kostov is of legal age.
Is there too much competition for Kostov’s position at Bayern?

According to the Telegraf, Red Star is basically willing to sell. The asking price of around 20 million euros is a clear signal – both to potential buyers and to the player himself. The club sees the youngster as an opportunity to boost the club’s coffers while the player can take the next big step in his career.
With Jamal Musiala and Lennart Karl, FC Bayern already have two highly talented players in Kostov’s position. Nevertheless, those responsible are continuing to sound out the market intensively. The interest in Kostov is part of a transfer strategy that is increasingly focusing on young potential.
However, given Musiala and Karl, it is unlikely that FC Bayern will make a serious move at the moment. Nevertheless, Kostov remains a player that Max Eberl and Christoph Freund will continue to monitor for the future.
