FC Bayern and BVB are rumored to be interested in Brazilian talent Rayan – but how concrete are the Munich players really?
FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund have been regarded as the top two German clubs for young international talent for years, and now the rivals are set to cross paths again – this time in their bid to sign Vasco da Gama’s Brazilian striker Rayan
As reported by ESPN Brazil, both the German record champions and BVB have made initial contact with the 19-year-old’s entourage. Rayan is regarded as one of the most exciting attacking talents of his age in his home country and has long been on the radar of several top European clubs
The centre-forward is still under contract with Vasco da Gama until 2028. Particularly explosive: his contract includes an exit clause, which is said to be around 80 million euros. According to ESPN, however, the Brazilian club might be willing to talk for around 50 million euros – a sum that hardly seems realistic for Dortmund and would also be anything but a no-brainer for Bayern
Bayern have been watching Rayan for months – but without a concrete approach
The fact that FC Bayern have been keeping an eye on Rayan for some time is nothing new. According to ESPN, the attacking player has been scouted intensively in Munich for months. BILD revealed back in November that the Munich club had put out feelers for the Brazilian
However, the record champions are not currently making an immediate move. BILD recently reported that although FC Bayern had compiled a detailed profile of Rayan, there is currently no concrete interest in signing him. According to the report, Munich are keeping a close eye on the youngster’s development, but want to take a wait-and-see approach for the time being
Despite the enormous talent, a transfer of this magnitude is only likely to be realistic if there are clear sporting prospects – for example in connection with the long-term succession of Harry Kane or a structural change in the attacking area
Rayan dreams of Europe – Bayern a dream destination
Rayan himself is said to be open to a move to Europe. According to UOL Esporte, the 19-year-old would like to take the next step in his career across the pond. FC Bayern is seen as a club that the left-footer would like to join in principle
Rayan has an exciting sporting profile. The Brazilian can be used flexibly in attack, preferring to play on the right wing, but can also operate in the center. In the current season, he has scored a strong 20 goals in 57 competitive matches in Série A, plus one assist. He has also already made his mark for the Brazilian U20 national team.
