Will FC Bayern and Joshua Kimmich soon part ways? A switch is quite likely, a Premier League club wants to get serious.
Joshua Kimmich’s departure from FC Bayern in the summer can no longer be ruled out. He is on FCB’s list of potential sales and , according to Sky, Kimmich himself is no longer ruling out a move.
There are apparently enough interested parties for the 29-year-old. One of the top international clubs with whom Kimmich is on their list now wants to get serious. According to Turkish transfer expert Ekrem Konur, FC Arsenal’s top priority is to sign Kimmich alongside Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz.
Arsenal is one of the possible destinations for Kimmich. They also include Manchester City with his former coach Pep Guardiola, Liverpool FC, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Kimmich’s contract with FC Bayern expires in the summer of 2025. With a current annual salary of around €20 million, the international will probably not be able to count on a contract extension that also includes a salary increase.
Position decisive for Kimmich
The decisive factor for Kimmich is above all his sporting prospects. It is doubtful whether he will be able to settle into the role of right-back in the long term. But the future belongs to Aleksandar Pavlovic in the centre of midfield. Bayern are also on the lookout for another six-man of international calibre.
Kimmich’s current market value is 75 million euros, with Bayern rumoured to be willing to negotiate an offer of between 80 and 90 million euros.
Sporting director Max Eberl recently announced talks with Kimmich, but these have apparently not yet taken place. „I still have over a year left on my contract, nobody has spoken to me yet. I’m very, very relaxed. At the end of the day, it’s all about showing my performance,“ said the FCB professional recently.
Given the queue of interested parties, Kimmich can indeed remain relaxed.
