Since Bryan Zaragoza moved to FC Bayern Munich in January, the young Spaniard has only played a few minutes in Munich. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now commented on the 22-year-old winger’s situation.
„It’s true that there is some kind of problem with Thomas Tuchel – it’s not about the player himself, but about the fact that Tuchel wanted something else,“ Romano explained in his podcast Here We Go. One of the main issues appears to be Zaragoza’s lack of German and English language skills. These prompted Tuchel to raise concerns about the player’s ability to adapt immediately in January.
FC Bayern, on the other hand, have great faith in Zaragoza for both the present and the future. The club wants to give him the opportunity to adapt and learn the language in peace. Bayern believe in his potential and it is expected that Zaragoza’s „new life“ at FC Bayern will begin as soon as Tuchel leaves the club in two months‘ time.
The Spaniard moved to Munich for 17 million euros inthe winter after a strong first half of the season at Granada FC. The 1.64 metre tall left winger was originally due to join the German record champions in the summer. However, the transfer was brought forward due to Kingsley Coman’s injury.
Did Tuchel never speak to Zaragoza?
The situation surrounding Zaragoza was further fuelled by reports from Spain. They claim that Tuchel has never spoken to Zaragoza directly since his arrival. These allegations come from Spanish journalist Marcos Benito of El Chiringuito TV, who is considered to be well connected within Zaragoza’s circle. Tuchel himself has recently emphasised the challenges Zaragoza faces in integrating into the team: „First and foremost, Bryan lacks the language, which is an elementary factor. It’s difficult in English and difficult in German.“
Despite the current difficulties and limited playing time, Zaragoza is determined to improve his situation. He is devoting himself intensively to learning German and English in order to speed up his adaptation. His commitment in training and the confidence of those in charge at the club suggest that the young player could yet play a significant role at FC Bayern.
