FC Bayern will face Viking Stavanger on Tuesday in the Champions League. We’ll show you where to watch the game live on TV and via live stream.
FC Bayern continues its Champions League campaign on Tuesday. On the second matchday of the group stage, Vincent Kompany’s team will face Viking Stavanger on the road. Kickoff at Viking Stadium is at 9 p.m.
The Munich team got off to a strong start in the Champions League. In their opener, FC Bayern defeated Bodo/Glimt 5-0, marking a perfect start to the new Champions League season.
For Stavanger, however, the first matchday was disappointing. The Norwegians suffered a 1–3 loss to VfB Stuttgart and are already under pressure to pick up their first points against Bayern.
There’s also a unique aspect to the playing surface: the Viking Stadium features artificial turf. As a result, Bayern has even adjusted its usual pregame preparations and will hold its final training session right in Stavanger.

Bayern must adjust to unfamiliar conditions
From a sporting perspective, FC Bayern enters the match as the favorite. Nevertheless, the Munich team does not want to underestimate the challenge in Norway. The artificial turf, in particular, creates unique conditions.
Vincent Kompany had already emphasized before the trip that he himself had never played on artificial turf in his long professional career. That is precisely why the final training session on site is intended to help the team get used to, among other things, ball speed, bounce behavior, and the right footwear.
There’s also an intriguing question regarding the lineup ahead of the match. Jonas Urbig could start in goal in Stavanger. As things stand, however, the 23-year-old’s potential start would not be seen as a reaction to Manuel Neuer’s mistake in the 2-2 draw against Augsburg.
For Bayern, the goal is to get back on track after the disappointing Bundesliga draw. Stavanger, meanwhile, is looking to earn its first points of this Champions League season following its opening-round loss in Stuttgart.
The two clubs have never faced each other before. Tuesday’s match will therefore be a first.
