Mathys Tel’s advisor has spoken about his protégé’s new contract with FC Bayern after signing.
Speaking to Münchner tz, Gadiri Camara said: „It’s easy to sign a new contract when the sun is in the sky. But when it’s as cloudy as it is now, you have to show commitment.“
French U21 international Tel has not been getting as much playing time in recent weeks as he did at the start of the season.
For Tel, the move to extend his contract is, according to Camara, „a good way to become a legend and shape a new era. That’s what Mathys wants.“
Tel has already made 31 competitive appearances for Bayern this season. However, the 18-year-old has only started five of them. He has scored seven goals and provided four assists.

On Wednesday, FC Bayern announced that Tel had prematurely extended his contract with the Munich club by two years until 2029.
Tel said: Mathys Tel himself explained: „This contract extension means a lot to me. I’ve already learnt a lot at FC Bayern – on and off the pitch. Munich has become a home for me and my family, and the fans are also very important to me: I can’t be the player I am without them.“
He continued: „When you play for FC Bayern, you always want to win all the titles, I want to score and set up goals, play with heart and energy for FC Bayern and give everything for this club and its fans.“
Bayern’s new sporting director Max Eberl explained: „He is an important building block for the future of this team, with him we already have the next generation of FC Bayern in our squad.“
