Milestone for the FC Bayern women: The team receives a jersey specially developed for them. A well-known model is involved in its creation.
This has never happened before in the 54-year history of women’s football at FC Bayern. For the first time, the players will be wearing a jersey designed exclusively for them.
This will be the case in the home match against RB Leipzig on Saturday 16 March.
The kit was created by model and designer Lena Gercke with her label „Brand LeGer by Lena Gercke“ in collaboration with adidas and FC Bayern.
The club announced on Monday that the players‘ opinions were taken into account in the creation of the new kit.
Head of department Bianca Rech emphasised the importance of this jersey: „The first jersey designed especially for us is of very central and emotional significance. It is another landmark day in the history of FC Bayern Women.“
„I’m super proud and grateful to be part of this long overdue milestone,“ said Gercke, expressing her delight at the historic project.
Shirt also available for fans
The players can hardly wait for the match against Leipzig. „We’re delighted to be playing in a jersey designed especially for us for the first time in FC Bayern’s history. This shows the growing importance of women’s football,“ said Linda Dallmann.
The international also has one wish: „It would be nice to see as many of our fans as possible wearing this jersey in the stadium soon.“
The jersey will be officially unveiled on Friday to mark International Women’s Day on 8 March. From this day onwards, the jersey will also be available in selected FC Bayern stores and in the online store for fans.
