Paris Saint-Germain goes into the CL round of 16 against FC Bayern with a defeat. PSG was defeated on Saturday evening with 1:3 against AS Monaco. Coach Christophe Galtier was visibly concerned after the defeat.

PSG has suffered two painful defeats within four days. While they were knocked out of the cup during the week with a 2-1 loss to Olympique Marseille, they also lost the top league match yesterday with a 3-1 defeat to Monaco.

To make matters worse, Paris is struggling with personnel problems three days before the CL clash against Bayern. With Marco Verratti, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, three regular players are threatening to drop out. According to current media reports, all three will play for FCB. Mbappe could also resume (running) training on Sunday.

PSG coach Christophe Galtier was nevertheless cautious: „I don’t think Mbappe will play. There are other players and we are not taking any risks with him. We hope he recovers well.“

„This is the current state of the team“.

Paris has not really presented itself in top form in recent games. Accordingly, Galtier is concerned about the duel against the German record champion: „I’m worried about the game on Tuesday night.“

The 56-year-old can’t really explain why PSG has presented itself so weak recently: „It’s the current state of the team. I can’t hide behind that. It’s strange, but true. It’s the current reality.“
