After Christopher Nkunku, Chelsea is continuing their search for new signings in the Bundesliga.

As reported by „Bild“, the London Club is heavily interested in RB Leipzig’s Konrad Laimer who will be a free agent next summer after he rejected a contract extension from RB Leipzig. Laimer almost joined Bayern this summer but the Bavarian giant thought that 30 million euros for the player in the last year of his contract are too much.

After Leipzig rejected their last offer of around 20 million euros plus add-ons, Bayern stepped out from that deal and also have their sights on his free agent status next summer.

Even though Laimer had initially thought only of joining Bayern, as they had agreed upon personal terms, Chelsea’s interest could change the game since the Premier League challenge sounds interesting to the Austrian.

Liverpool is also very interested in the 26-year-old midfielder who perfectly fits the vision of Jurgen Klopp, but it still remains to be seen what will Austrian decide when January comes and all clubs become officially eligible to negotiate with the player and his representatives.

Julian Nagelsmann made it clear internally that Laimer was his big wish, and the race for him won’t be easy if both Chelsea and Liverpool become more serious for the defensive midfielder.
