The DFB announced on Wednesday that Leon Goretzka and Manuel Neuer have tested positive for COVID-19.
Goretzka and Neuer are both on international duty with Germany for the Nations League games against Hungary and England. The coronavirus tests in the morning showed that they have been infected with the flu.
Both Neuer and Goretzka are currently isolated and will leave the team hotel. According to Sport1, both players are asymptomatic.
German national team coach Hansi Flick has replaced the Bayern players with Oliver Baumann from TSG Hoffenheim and Maximilian Arnold from VfL Wolfsburg.
Current regulations suggest that Neuer and Goretzka have to isolate themselves for five days at home and then conduct a self-testing or rapid test. Until the test turns out negative, they later have the right to leave domestic isolation. Neuer and Goretzka could be available for Bayern once again after the international break ends.
