Bayern Munich are actively working on signing Ryan Gravenberch from Ajax Amsterdam. According to reports, the Bavarian giants are already in contact with his agent Mino Raiola. However, there are certain obstacles that prevent the transfer from being finalized.
Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn recently confirmed that he met Gravenberch agent Mino Raiola in Monaco, but the 52-year-old did not want to comment on specific details. But one thing is clear: the name Gravenberch was certainly part of the conversations between Kahn and the star advisor.
Recently, reports have been circulating that Real Madrid have overtaken Bayern in the bid for the Dutch international. However, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Gravenberch is still open to a move to the German record champions. A decision is yet to be made, though.
Too much for Bayern? Ajax are demanding €30m
In addition to the strong competition, the transfer fee seems to be a much bigger problem for Bayern. As Romano claims, Ajax are demanding 30 million euros for Gravenberch, even though he is only bounded to the Dutch club until 2023. Bayern do not seem to be willing to pay the sum
There have not been any direct talks between the two clubs yet. The „negotiations“ with Raiola are currently underway. But, if Ajax show no willingness to negotiate the transfer fee, it is questionable whether there will be any concrete transfer negotiations at all.
Gravenberch has been usually playing for Ajax since the transfer rumors emerged. It is pretty much apparent that Ajax want to keep on playing the 19 years old in order to stick to the demanded transfer fee and not lose him for less than that.
