Serge Gnabry’s contract extension at Bayern Munich continues to be difficult. The talks with the winger have been going on for months and an agreement is still not in sight.
Gnabry’s extension is very important on Bayern’s wish list. As Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn recently revealed for the media, further talks will soon be held with the winger. According to „Sky“ reporter Florian Plettenberg, the club and the player are still far apart in agreement as far as the salary is concerned.
So far, both sides haven’t come to an agreement yet and it is unknown whether or when further talks will start soon. As Plettenberg claims to have learned, the chances of a contract extension are 50/50. Despite the doubts, the club are still confident that they can reach an agreement with Gnabry over an extension.
Update #Gnabry: Bosses remain convinced that SG will extend. But the two sides are still at odds over the salary issue. So far no rapprochement. No one can say when further talks will take place. It is said that his chances of renewing his contract are 50:50. @SkySportsNews

But if both sides fail to reach an agreement, the club should be looking for a replacement in the summer. Antony of Ajax and Raphinha of Leeds United have been the most discussed names at Bayern but the club distanced from them due to Kingsley Coman’s extension and their high transfer fee.
With Gnabry’s extension not in sight yet, it remains to be seen what will happen in the coming months.
