Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn spoke about Robert Lewandowski’s future and emphasized that the board will soon start contract talks with the Pole.
Before the Bundesliga game against Bayer Leverkusen, Kahn commented on the current situation surrounding Lewandowski as follows: „I’ve said several times that we want to hold talks with some deserving players this spring, including Robert Lewandowski, obviously. We will start talks soon.”
The 52-year-old also explained why this hasn’t happened yet: „We’re now entering the decisive phase of the season. We now want to concentrate on the Bundesliga and the Champions League. Now every game and every millimeter counts, and then we go step by step.“
According to reports, the striker and his agent, Pini Zahavi are irritated that Bayern Munich have not approached them yet for negotiations. One thing is clear: the club and the player want to clarify by summer as to how things would continue. According to rumors, Lewandowski is open to another extension with Bayern, but there are obviously many obstacles on the way.
