Great news for Bayern Munich, its fans, and especially for Leon Goretzka. As Julian Nagelsmann emphasized on Friday, the 26-year-old is making good progress and could return to team training in the next one or two weeks.
After a break of almost three months, Leon Goretzka’s suffering is slowly but surely coming to an end. The midfielder has increased the intensity of his training in recent days. Head coach Julian Nagelsmann gave a positive update on Friday: „Things are looking good for Leon. He is making good progress and is mostly pain-free. He’s on the right track. We’re trying to get him back into part of team training over the next week or two.“
The 26-year-old has been missing from Bayern since December 2022 and has recently been struggling with persistent problems with the patellar tendon. If everything goes according to plan, the German international could become an option for Bayern again after the international break in early April.
Davies‘ comeback postponed
A comeback is also within reach for Alphonso Davies, according to Nagelsmann: „Phonzie is having an examination today, for the next 2-3 weeks he won’t be an option, regardless of the results. He’s been inactive for the past couple of weeks.“ The 21-year-old Canadian has been pausing since the beginning of the year due to myocarditis.
