On the soccer field, Michael Olise is one of FC Bayern’s most creative players. With his dribbling, extraordinary passes, and technical skills, the Frenchman regularly thrills fans of the German record champions. But apparently, his creativity isn’t limited to soccer. The 24-year-old has now drawn attention with an unusual project.
At the center of it all is a self-produced short film in which Olise documents the creation of his outfit for this year’s Ballon d’Or gala. In the film, the Bayern star reveals a side of himself that few fans have seen before.
Particularly surprising: Olise was not only involved in designing his extraordinary suit but also took on creative responsibility for the film. In the credits, the forward is explicitly named as the filmmaker.
Olise Designs His Own Suit for the Ballon d’Or Gala
The short film, just under 100 seconds long, is titled “A Celebration of Process” and was shot on analog 16-mm film.
It showcases the entire creation process of the custom-made outfit. From the initial sketches and fabric selection to the cutting, sewing, and final adjustments, the elaborate work is documented.

For the project, Olise collaborated with the London-based fashion label YAKU. The young design studio was involved in developing the suit and also handled the styling.
The bespoke tailoring was handled by Charlie Brown and Zac McGarry. The custom-made decorative elements and buttons were provided by the label The Ouze.
Particularly striking were the diagonal rows of buttons on the black jacket. The military-inspired embellishments formed the initials of the Bayern star.
The wide-leg pants were also a deliberate choice, combining classic tailoring with modern streetwear elements.
“A film by Michael Olise”—Bayern star surprises as a filmmaker
A glance at the credits reveals that Olise was far more than just the face of the project.
They explicitly state “A film by Michael Olise.” “Olise Internal” is listed as the producer. Thus, the French national team player presents himself as the creative force behind a project that blends fashion and film.
Particularly striking is the contrast with his public persona. While Olise usually comes across as reserved in interviews and rarely shows much emotion even after spectacular goals, he demonstrates a keen eye for detail in his film project.
At the Ballon d’Or gala, the 24-year-old had already drawn attention with his extraordinary outfit on the red carpet.
On the sports front, Olise also had reason to celebrate a special honor. In the vote for the world’s best soccer player, the Bayern Munich star finished in ninth place. His teammate Harry Kane took home the prestigious award.
Incidentally, this isn’t Olise’s first foray into the world of film. Back in August, the Frenchman released an artistic short film titled “MO 001.”
With his latest project, the attacking star once again demonstrates that he possesses remarkable creative talent even off the field.
