At FC Bayern, the leadership is set up for the long term. Nevertheless, it may already be becoming clear who could one day succeed CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen.
Jan-Christian Dreesen has just extended his contract with FC Bayern early, through 2029, and could even remain CEO until 2030 thanks to a special option. So there is no immediate need for action regarding this position at Säbener Straße. Nevertheless, a potential successor may already be on the club’s own executive board.
The tz newspaper has put Marketing Director Rouven Kasper forward as a possible candidate to eventually succeed Dreesen. The 44-year-old has only been on FC Bayern’s executive board since early 2026, but has apparently already earned an excellent reputation in Munich.
Kasper has made his mark in a short time, particularly on the business front. The marketing expert has been involved in several lucrative sponsorship deals with well-known companies such as Viessmann, Google, and Miele. Most recently, Bayern also extended its partnership with Ursapharm Arzneimittel GmbH and its Hylo brand through 2029.
Kasper is quickly making a name for himself at FC Bayern
Kasper is considered a true dealmaker. He is also a driving force behind FC Bayern’s collaboration with the North American National Hockey League (NHL), through which the Munich club is further expanding its international network.
But it’s not just his business acumen that could make Kasper a strong candidate for higher office. With his easygoing and communicative manner, the 44-year-old is said to be well-liked within the team as well. He thus brings qualities to the table that are likely to play an important role for a future CEO, alongside business expertise.

However, the idea that Kasper could actually succeed Dreesen is pure speculation at this point. The current CEO enjoys a high level of trust at FC Bayern and, thanks to a special clause in his new contract, could even extend his term independently for another year, through 2030.
Consequently, a potential leadership transition at the top of the executive board is still a long way off. Nevertheless, in his first few months at FC Bayern, Kasper has already positioned himself in a way that could make him a long-term candidate for the club’s most important operational role.
