Even though the summer transfer window closed a few days ago, Michael Olise remains one of the hottest transfer topics at FC Bayern. After Real Madrid in particular was linked to the French attacking star in recent months, it appears that the next European heavyweights are already positioning themselves for 2027.
As reported by the British website TEAMtalk, Liverpool FC is showing interest in Olise. According to the report, the Reds could make a move for the 24-year-old next summer. Paris Saint-Germain is also said to have the Frenchman on their radar, according to L’Équipe.
For Bayern, the ongoing rumors come as little surprise. Since his move to Munich, Olise has developed into an absolute key player and is now among the top favorites for the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
Olise once again demonstrated his exceptional form in the 5-0 victory over Bodø/Glimt. The right winger contributed two goals and an assist to the successful Champions League opener.
Liverpool and PSG are keeping an eye on Olise
It goes without saying that such performances are attracting interest. As early as last summer, Real Madrid was rumored to have shown intense interest. At the time, however, the Munich club made it clear that selling their star player was out of the question.
Now, the transfer saga could repeat itself in the summer of 2027. Liverpool is reportedly already positioning itself for a potential move. At the same time, PSG could join the fray as another financially powerful competitor.
According to current reports, however, there are no concrete negotiations or offers on the table. Furthermore, FC Bayern is in a relatively comfortable contractual position: Olise’s contract runs through 2029 and, according to club officials, does not include a buyout clause.
Nevertheless, the Munich club does not want to simply sit back and wait. Rather, the plan is to secure Olise on a long-term contract ahead of schedule and to reward his outstanding development financially as well.
Eberl identifies summer 2027 as the key date
Max Eberl recently made it clear just how important the coming months will be. Referring to a possible contract extension, the sporting director stated: “We should know by next summer whether he’s inclined to extend his contract or not.”
CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen also recently declined to offer any long-term guarantee that Olise would stay. “Making promises in this business is a tricky business,” the Bayern boss explained on SPORT1’s “Doppelpass.”
This by no means implies that Bayern is planning a sale. Rather, club officials apparently want to establish early on whether Olise sees his long-term future in Munich. Should the Frenchman extend his contract, which runs through 2029, this would send a clear signal to international rivals.
This is likely to be one of the most important tasks for Bayern’s management in the coming months. Olise has long since evolved from a promising new signing into one of the most valuable players on the roster.
