Michael Olise has quickly become one of FC Bayern’s most important players. Although the Frenchman is still under contract through 2029, there has been speculation for months about an early contract extension. This could prove extremely lucrative for the 24-year-old.
As reported by the website fussballdaten.de, Olise’s contract could be extended through 2031 as part of a renewal. This would not only allow Munich to secure one of its top performers for the long term but also send a clear signal to potential suitors.
Particularly noteworthy are the reported salary figures. According to these, Olise could even become the top earner at the German record champions under a new contract.
Olise could surpass Kane and Musiala
Reports were already circulating this summer suggesting that Olise currently earns around 16 to 17 million euros per year, including potential bonus payments. In the event of an early contract extension, this amount could apparently increase significantly.
According to information from fussballdaten.de, an annual salary of around 30 million euros is even being discussed. If this were to actually happen, Olise would climb to the very top of Munich’s internal salary hierarchy.
Currently, Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala are said to be among the highest-paid players at FC Bayern, each earning around 25 million euros per year. With the rumored 30 million euros, Olise would once again significantly surpass that mark.
On the field, the Frenchman has long since established himself as a key player. In the 5–1 Bundesliga opener against VfB Stuttgart, Olise was among the most prominent players and even contributed a goal to the decisive home victory.
Bayern is in no rush to sign Olise
What’s interesting, however, is that a contract extension does not appear to be on the immediate horizon. CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen made it clear after the Stuttgart game that Bayern is not currently in talks with Olise about a new contract.
“No, we’re not in talks at the moment. If I recall correctly, Michael still has a contract through 2029. So there’s no reason to act hastily or rush anything right now,” Dreesen explained.
The Bayern boss also firmly dismissed the recurring speculation about a possible move to Real Madrid. “As someone in charge who also knows the background, sometimes you can’t help but be amused, and at other times you get annoyed by what’s being written. We’ve always said: It’s nonsense. It was nonsense back then, and it’s still nonsense.”
So it’s clear: Given Olise’s contract, which runs through 2029, FC Bayern is by no means under any pressure to act. Should talks about an early contract extension nevertheless arise during the season, salary—in addition to the contract term—is likely to play a central role.
It remains to be seen whether the rumored 30 million euros is actually realistic. One thing is clear, however: With his performances, Olise has secured an excellent negotiating position in a very short time.
