FC Bayern plans to let some players go this summer. One or two departures are already a done deal, and another will be officially confirmed very soon. This is becoming increasingly clear.
It involves the transfer of Jonathan Asp Jensen to Deportivo La Coruña. The La Liga newcomer had already reached an agreement with FC Bayern a few days ago.
Previously, Lazio and Udinese Calcio were the main clubs showing interest. Bayern was also in concrete talks with Lazio, but their offer ultimately fell short.
Deportivo took advantage of this and reached out to FC Bayern directly. In the best-case scenario, the record champions could earn up to seven million euros.
Asp Jensen’s departure nears completion
Following the agreement with the Spanish club, the player was allowed to undergo a medical exam. Asp Jensen, who played on loan for Grasshoppers in Zurich last season and performed well there, has now passed this medical exam, according to Matteo Moretto.

This clears the final major hurdle. The 20-year-old is now expected to sign his contract with the historic Spanish club tomorrow, Monday. FC Bayern and the Spanish club will then officially confirm the deal.
Bayern has not secured a buyback option in this case. However, they will receive a share of any future transfer fee should the player be sold on. It is therefore entirely possible that the record champions could generate additional revenue from the Danish player in the future.
In any case, the sale is significant, as Bayern must generate revenue this summer through transfer fees—revenue that is essential for maintaining financial balance. This is also key to making further transfers this summer following the signings of Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari.
