Michael Olise continues to be linked with Real Madrid. Now, Bayern legend Willy Sagnol has taken a clear stance and advised the Frenchman to continue his development at FC Bayern for the time being.
Michael Olise’s future remains one of the major topics in the transfer market. Despite his long-term contract with FC Bayern, speculation about a possible move to Real Madrid continues unabated.
Spanish media, in particular, have been reporting for weeks on the interest from Los Blancos. According to these reports, Real Madrid wants to sign the French international after the World Cup.
Willy Sagnol, a former Bayern pro and French national team player, has now spoken out clearly on the matter.
Sagnol recommends that Olise stay in Munich
In an interview with Sport BILD, Georgian national team coach Sagnol spoke out clearly against a hasty move to Madrid. “Olise is still young and can always go to Real in a few years. He knows what he has in Munich: a great environment, fantastic teammates, and an outstanding coach,” Sagnol explained.
In his view, there’s currently no reason for the 24-year-old to leave FC Bayern. “Olise looks very happy,” added the former right back.
Sagnol is particularly impressed by Olise’s style of play. “To put it bluntly, Olise doesn’t give a damn whether he scores, sets up a goal, or not. You can tell he’s not thinking about doing something for himself, but is always looking out for what helps the team.”
For the former Bayern pro, that’s exactly what makes the difference. “Olise is simply a true team player, not an individualist. Our kids finally have a great role model.”
Hopes for him to stay long-term

Sagnol also takes a clear stance on the question of Olise’s future. “As a former player and coach for Bayern Munich, I naturally hope that he’ll stay with the record champions for a while longer.”
At FC Bayern, club officials are already aiming to keep Olise with the club for the long term. There have been several recent reports that the Munich club plans to begin talks about an early contract extension after the World Cup.
The Frenchman himself wants to focus entirely on the tournament for now. According to his own statements, a decision about his future will not be made until after the World Cup.
