The rumors surrounding Michael Olise and Real Madrid show no signs of abating. Now, the Spanish record champions are even said to be pursuing a concrete plan to finance a potential mega-transfer for the Bayern star.
Michael Olise remains one of the hottest topics on the international transfer market. Although FC Bayern has repeatedly declared the French international “not for sale,” speculation about Real Madrid’s interest persists.
Most recently, Fichajes reported that Real Madrid is prepared to put together a record-breaking offer for the 24-year-old. According to the report, the total package could even surpass the previous record set by Neymar, who moved from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain for 222 million euros in 2017.
Real Madrid apparently plans a sales push
According to the report, however, Real Madrid would first need to generate significant revenue before an offer for Olise would be possible.
Consequently, the Madrid club is actively seeking buyers for Álvaro Carreras, Dean Huijsen, and Eduardo Camavinga. The sales of this trio are expected to generate a transfer fee of at least 120 million euros.
Only then does Real plan to make a move for Olise.
An offer of more than 200 million euros?
According to information from Fichajes, the Royals are initially planning an offer of around 210 million euros.
The website had previously reported that internal discussions were even taking place regarding a total package of up to 220 million euros. This is said to consist of a fixed transfer fee of 190 million euros plus an additional 30 million euros in bonus payments.
However, it remains to be seen whether such an offer will actually be made—and under what conditions.
At Säbener Straße, the club’s leadership has not changed its position so far. President Herbert Hainer recently made it unmistakably clear in an interview with the Abendzeitung München that selling the star forward is out of the question. “I’ve said this before: If Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez had that in mind, he can save himself the trouble, because we don’t want to sell Michael.”
Olise is under contract with FC Bayern through 2029 and is considered one of the most important building blocks for the future. In addition, the Munich club plans to hold talks after the World Cup about an early contract extension to keep the French international with the club for the long term.
Against this backdrop, a move to Madrid seems unlikely at the moment, despite the ongoing speculation.
