In recent days, rumors have been circulating that DFB star Felix Nmecha is a candidate for FC Bayern. Now, the record champion’s plans regarding Nmecha’s position have been revealed.
It’s nothing new that the record champions always prick up their ears whenever a German national team player might hit the market, has a release clause, or is at least linked to a transfer.
However, Dortmund has no intention of letting Nmecha go. A buyout clause takes effect for the first time in 2027, which is why a sum in the hundreds of millions has been set as the bottom line this summer. And even if Max Eberl is said to have already made contact, a transfer is considered rather unlikely.
Bayern: Here Are the Plans for Midfield
This is now corroborated by a report from Sport1. According to the report, FC Bayern is not currently planning a major investment in midfield—even though the club has, of course, recognized just how promising Nmecha’s recent development has been.
Max Eberl and his team are monitoring the market and looking for opportunities, but the fact remains that they already have two solid players in Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlovic, and Tom Bischof is expected to play an increasingly important role.
In addition, Noel Aseko has been brought back. The U21 national team player previously played for Hannover, and Bayern exercised its buyback option. The plan is for the established players to be the regulars, while the two younger players are developed in the background.
While there are interested clubs like Eintracht Frankfurt that have their eye on Aseko, the midfielder also has several advocates at FCB. That’s why a transfer is anything but certain. Since Konrad Laimer can theoretically play in central midfield as well, and Ismael Saibari—who came from PSV—can play deeper, the team is well-positioned.
It remains to be seen what the future holds if Nmecha has an exit clause. For now, however, the issue doesn’t seem to be a pressing one.
