FC Bayern is planning several transfers this summer. There could be some movement in the defense, and several players have been and continue to be linked with Bayern. As for one candidate, however, the club must now admit that they are out of the running.
Ruben Dias, Gleison Bremer, Yann Bisseck, Josko Gvardiol: The list of defenders recently linked to Bayern is very long. Some rumors were immediately dismissed as pure fiction, while others lingered longer.
This is particularly true of the Croatian defender Gvardiol, who currently plays for Manchester City.
Following Pep Guardiola’s departure as head coach, he is reportedly now considering a move, even though no final decision has been made yet.
Gvardiol: Bayern is out of the running
Recently, there have been initial reports suggesting that Manchester City has set a price tag for the player. In particular, there have been repeated reports from England in recent days indicating that Bayern is very interested.

But now comes the setback. According to Florian Plettenberg, while the record champions’ management holds the defender in high regard, a transfer is not on the table.
Bayern had already had their eye on Gvardiol when he was still playing for Leipzig, but even back then, a deal didn’t materialize because he chose the Skyblues.
Two options for Gvardiol
Currently, it is primarily the financial terms that rule out a transfer for the defender, who can play in central defense as well as on the left side.
According to Plettenberg, there are currently two main options for the player: a contract extension with improved terms at Manchester City or a move to Real Madrid. The Royals also have their eyes on him, plan to launch a transfer offensive this summer, and want to strengthen their squad.
