FC Bayern are still interested in Nathaniel Brown, while Eintracht Frankfurt are apparently keen to get things done as quickly as possible in the transfer poker and are pushing for an agreement before Germany’s World Cup opener
The future of Nathaniel Brown could become a major topic on the transfer market in the coming days. Eintracht Frankfurt do not want to prolong the poker for the German international unnecessarily. Now kicker is following up and reports that the Hessians are even hoping for an agreement before the DFB team’s first World Cup match against Curaçao on Sunday
However, it remains to be seen whether it will actually happen that quickly, as Frankfurt have a clear asking price, with Eintracht demanding around 60 million euros for the 22-year-old left-back
A sum that would be anything but a matter of course for FC Bayern
Frankfurt has so far shown little willingness to compromise
Brown has developed into one of the most sought-after left-backs in Germany in recent months, and his strong development and performances at Frankfurt have attracted the interest of several clubs – including FC Bayern
According to information from kicker, talks are already underway between the two clubs, although there has not been much concession from Frankfurt so far. Should Bayern want to reduce the transfer fee, this is likely to be possible primarily through bonus payments or performance-related components
The Hessians are well aware that Brown is in demand on the market and are therefore in a comfortable negotiating position
Bayern must first realize sales
At the same time, the transfer is apparently not the top priority at FC Bayern at the moment. According to the report, the signing of a flexible attacking player is still at the top of the wish list of those responsible in Munich
In order to be able to make further investments, Bayern first want to generate revenue, with several sales candidates in particular expected to get the market moving
These currently include loan returnees Joao Palhinha, Sacha Boey, Bryan Zaragoza and Alexander Nübel. Munich are still hoping for a lucrative transfer for Nübel in particular, after sporting director Christoph Freund had already publicly confirmed that the international goalkeeper was no longer part of their sporting plans
As long as no major proceeds are achieved on the sales side, a potential Brown transfer is likely to remain difficult. Nevertheless, Frankfurt appear to be keeping the door open for talks – but probably only on their own terms.
