FC Bayern’s contract negotiations with Konrad Laimer are back on track. After talks had recently stalled, both sides are apparently coming closer again
Konrad Laimer’s future at FC Bayern remains open – but talks about a contract extension are now back on track
As BILD head of soccer Christian Falk reports, both sides have started a new round of negotiations with the aim of extending the contract, which currently runs until 2027
The talks had recently stalled due to significant differences in salary expectations. Laimer is currently set to earn around eight to nine million euros per year. According to the report, the player is aiming for an annual salary of between twelve and 15 million euros in the future
Sporting director Max Eberl recently addressed the complicated situation openly: „There are two points of view that don’t fit together at the moment. We want to extend with Konni, that’s a fact. Now we have to somehow find a bridge as far as the ideas are concerned.“
Hoeneß statements caused unrest
Statements by honorary president Uli Hoeneß had recently caused additional tension, as he had publicly emphasized that Laimer, despite his importance, did not have the same sporting status as Harry Kane – also with regard to the salary structure
These statements are said to have irritated the players, and internally the mood was considered tense at times
Recently, however, there have been signs of an easing of tensions, with Laimer apparently making some concessions to Bayern’s demands
There were also apparently positive signals at the championship celebrations last weekend
Reconciliatory scenes at the championship party
According to a report in BILD, there was a conspicuous scene between Hoeneß and Laimer at the celebrations
According to the report, the Bayern patron approached the Austrian in a good mood, patted his cheek in a friendly manner and exchanged a few warm words with the midfielder. Afterwards, both are said to have smiled and winked at each other
The scene was apparently seen internally as a sign that the dust had settled

In sporting terms, Laimer continues to be extremely important to Vincent Kompany. The 28-year-old has impressed above all with his versatility and enormous commitment this season
FC Bayern would like to keep the top performer for the long term – now the two sides just need to come to an agreement on the financial terms.
