FC Bayern have suffered another setback in the injury list: a midfielder has suffered another injury and is out for the time being.
The club have announced that midfield talent David Santos Daiber has suffered a torn muscle tendon in his left thigh, meaning the 19-year-old will not be available „for the time being“ and will have to take another break.
A bitter pill to swallow: Santos Daiber had only just recovered from a previous muscle injury that had kept him out of action for around seven weeks, so this latest setback comes at a particularly inopportune time – and sets him back further in his development.
In view of the current diagnosis, a comeback this season seems almost out of the question, meaning that the young midfielder’s season is effectively over.
At least Santos Daiber has a title to celebrate despite his limited playing time. His two appearances in the current Bundesliga season mean he is officially part of FC Bayern’s championship squad and can call himself German Champion 2026.
Santos Daiber signed a professional contract with FC Bayern
The injury adds to an already long list for FC Bayern, who have repeatedly had to contend with absentees, particularly in attack and midfield, in the final stages of the season.
For Santos Daiber, one thing remains crucial: getting fully fit and making a fresh start in the coming season.

Santos Daiber only signed his first professional contract until 30 June 2030 with the German record champions in March, a sign that those responsible are counting on him for the future. However, there is plenty of competition for him in Munich’s luxury squad, which is why there has already been speculation that he could be loaned out to another club next season to gain match practice.
