The name Michael Olise is making headlines all over Europe – and now also for a spectacular transfer appeal from England. While the Frenchman is shining at FC Bayern from week to week, the first voices on the island are already dreaming aloud of a transfer. But in Munich, this fantasy is coming up against a clear limit
Former international Jermaine Pennant gave free rein to his wish during the Champions League spectacle between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Bayern (5:4). „Liverpool should go out and get Olise now, whatever the cost. That’s your replacement for Mo Salah. COST IT WHATEVER IT WANTS. Any amount plus Gakpo,“ he wrote on X. An appeal that may attract attention, but has little substance in reality
Because nobody at FC Bayern is currently thinking of letting the attacking star go. On the contrary: those responsible are positioning themselves clearly – and unmistakably
Liverpool go out and get Olise right now, at all costs. There is your replacement for Mo salah. AT ALL COSTS. Any amount plus gakpo.

Bayern draw a clear line
Supervisory board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently made it clear what the stance at Säbener Straße is. „There is no price tag for a player like Olise that would make us flinch,“ explained the 70-year-old. Even sums above the €200 million mark would not trigger any serious discussion at the moment
A remarkable statement – especially in times when hardly any player is considered truly unsellable. But in the case of Olise, FC Bayern seems to be deliberately sending out a signal: the Frenchman is not only indispensable in sporting terms, but is also a central face of the club’s future plans
From transfer coup to key player

Looking back, the €53 million transfer from Crystal Palace seems like an absolute stroke of luck. Within a very short space of time, Olise has developed into one of the defining players at the German record champions – and is now one of the best wingers in the world
His mixture of creativity, efficiency and intelligence makes him almost irreplaceable in Vincent Kompany’s system, as well as a quality that is particularly appreciated internally: his reserved, almost media-shy manner
Rummenigge also emphasized precisely this point: „He is a wonderful player. I also like the fact that he is so reserved and almost media-shy. That is the exception in today’s world.“
Bayern deliberately sets an example
It is therefore hardly surprising that clubs such as Liverpool and Real Madrid are keeping an eye on the Frenchman, but Munich are responding to this desire with a clear strategy: sealing themselves off instead of negotiating
The term „unsellable“ may often be relative in modern soccer – but at FC Bayern it serves as a deliberate signal to the market in this case. Olise should remain the face of the attack in the long term
Or to put it another way: while people in England are dreaming out loud, things have long been clear in Munich. Michael Olise is not for sale, and that is unlikely to change any time soon.
