A few days before the Champions League clash against Real Madrid, the discussion surrounding Jamal Musiala is providing plenty of fuel for the fire – and is now also bringing Bayern bosses onto the scene. After Oliver Kahn publicly suggested that the attacking star might miss out on the World Cup, president Herbert Hainer has now taken a clear stance – and is demonstratively standing in front of the 23-year-old
„I don’t understand Oliver Kahn’s statement at all,“ Hainer explained clearly in an interview with BILD, leaving no doubt as to the attitude at Säbener Straße. For the 71-year-old, the matter is clear: „Every footballer wants to go to the World Cup. And if Jamal is fit, he is one of the absolute best we have in Germany.“
Clear backing for Musiala
Hainer emphasizes the importance of Musiala not only for FC Bayern, but also for German soccer. „Every team in the world would like to have someone like him in their team,“ says the Bayern president. Especially after his long injury, it is completely normal that the attacking player is gradually finding his way back to his old strength
His recent performances speak for themselves: Musiala scored Munich’s historic 101st goal of the season in the 5-0 win against FC St. Pauli – a moment that, according to Hainer, is emblematic of his quality: „We were all delighted that he scored that historic goal. He deserved it.“
Kahn statement causes incomprehension

Oliver Kahn’s statements had previously caused astonishment. The former Bayern board member had argued that a player must first reach his top level again before thinking about a major tournament such as the World Cup. „If I feel something is wrong in my game, then I have to work on myself,“ explained Kahn
A view clearly rejected by Hainer, who is certain that as soon as Musiala is physically ready, there will be no discussion about his participation in the World Cup
Despite the public debate, the focus at FC Bayern remains clearly on the sporting side of things, with nothing less than a place in the semi-finals of the Champions League at stake in the quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid on Wednesday evening
And it is precisely in games like this that Musiala can become a decisive factor. The exceptional player gains more rhythm with every game – and could once again play a key role against the Whites
The message from the Bayern management is clear: Musiala should not allow himself to be influenced by external discussions, but should continue on his path, because it is clear to Munich that a fit Jamal Musiala is not only indispensable for FC Bayern, but also for the German national team.
