The name Victor Osimhen regularly makes the headlines on the transfer market – most recently also in the context of FC Bayern. But how concrete is a possible interest from Munich really? In the BILD podcast Bayern Insider, experts Christian Falk and Julian Agardi comment on the speculation
The Nigerian top striker is repeatedly linked with a move to top European clubs. Due to his outstanding performances in recent years, Victor Osimhen is one of the most sought-after attackers in international soccer. It is therefore not surprising that FC Bayern is also repeatedly mentioned as a possible interested party
Most recently, a report from the soccer transfer portal Fußball Transfers caused new discussions, according to which the German record champions are said to be looking into signing the striker. However, this rumour has now been clearly classified in the BILD podcast Bayern Insider
Falk clarifies: „There is no truth to the rumor“
In the traditional podcast segment „True or Not True“, Falk and Agardi clearly assessed the alleged Bayern interest in Osimhen – and refuted the speculation. „That’s not true,“ Falk explained clearly. „I know this rumor has really caused a stir on the internet.“
The BILD soccer boss also makes it clear in the podcast that those in charge at Säbener Straße have little understanding for the reports that keep emerging. According to Falk, the Bayern bosses even feel instrumentalized by such reports in some cases. „I already know that the Bayern bosses are a bit annoyed. They feel used,“ Falk continued
One possible reason why an Osimhen transfer would hardly make sense at the moment is obvious: FC Bayern is excellently positioned in the center of attack, with Harry Kane being one of the best attackers in the world
The podcast also points out that the need in this position is simply not there at the moment. Osimhen is regularly linked with big clubs and remains one of the most exciting names on the international transfer market – but he plays no role at FC Bayern
Instead of thinking about a new top striker, those in charge at the record champions are currently dealing with other personnel issues, in particular contract extensions for key players and long-term squad planning
The name Victor Osimhen is therefore likely to continue to appear in the media as a transfer rumor for the time being – but as things stand, there do not appear to be any concrete talks or plans at FC Bayern.
