FC Bayern have to make a last-minute change for the Bundesliga top match against Eintracht Frankfurt. Konrad Laimer is unavailable. For Vincent Kompany it is a bitter setback shortly before kick-off.
As reported by tz, the right-back is out due to injury. Laimer had already missed the final training session after complaining of discomfort. An exact diagnosis or a specific time of absence have not yet been communicated.
Kompany did not explicitly mention Laimer at the press conference. It was a different story for Manuel Neuer: the 39-year-old is still absent due to a calf injury, meaning the record champions are without two experienced players ahead of the clash with Frankfurt.
Another absence comes at an inopportune time for Laimer

Away from the pitch, Laimer’s contract situation is also a topic of conversation. His current contract runs until 2027. While Bayern have been able to extend the contracts of several key players in recent months, talks with the Austrian are proving difficult. His renewed absence comes at an inopportune time for further contract talks.
Laimer told Sport BILD: „There aren’t many talks at the moment. I’m still relaxed.“ He continued: „You can’t get your head too full.“ There are currently no signs of a quick agreement.
As BILD head of soccer Christian Falk had reported, Laimer is said to have been „disappointed“ by Munich’s first offer, according to which he was offered around eight to nine million euros per year, while the player’s side had expected a total package of between twelve and 15 million euros. As a result, the advisors are said to have „put the talks on ice“ for the time being.
Laimer moved to Munich from RB Leipzig on a free transfer in the summer of 2023 and has since played 118 competitive matches for FC Bayern. He has made 29 appearances this season, scoring two goals and providing eight assists. He will now be forced to watch again for the first time against Frankfurt.
