Andrej Kramaric, who has now been under contract with TSG Hoffenheim for ten years, has openly admitted that one decision in his career still haunts him in retrospect
„In hindsight, that’s the only club I say maybe I should have done it,“ said the Croatian international in an interview with kicker, adding honestly: „That’s the only thing I perhaps regret, everything else didn’t appeal to me too much.“
In the past, FC Bayern had specifically knocked on Kramaric’s door. There were many offers for the attacking player, both at home and abroad, but the now 34-year-old always decided to stay in Hoffenheim – also with a view to his sporting role
„But we’ll never know how that would have turned out. It was the time of Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Müller and all the others, so it was clear that I wouldn’t have played as much as I did here,“ Kramaric explained in retrospect. The competition at the record champions was enormous, and the prospect of regular playing time was significantly lower than at TSG

Nevertheless, the move to Munich would have paid off financially, Kramaric leaves no doubt about that. „Financially, I would have improved in any case, even for the stations afterwards,“ he said openly. Nevertheless, the decision was always made in favour of Hoffenheim – and for a path that made him a club icon
„That’s why I’m still here. I would never have dreamed that as a Croatian, as a foreigner, I would write such a story in the Bundesliga and achieve such a status in Hoffenheim,“ said Kramaric. He is held in high esteem in Hoffenheim, both on a sporting and personal level
His contract with TSG expires in the summer, and an extension is clearly his preferred scenario. „I just want to keep playing soccer, preferably at Hoffenheim, I’m still extremely motivated here,“ he emphasized. And made it clear: „If it were in my power, I would sign immediately.“
