Those responsible at FC Bayern have apparently already reached a verbal agreement with Vincent Kompany. The Belgian is to become the new coach of the German record champions. It has now also been announced how long Kompany’s contract in Munich will run.

A verbal agreement has apparently already been reached between FC Bayern and coach Vincent Kompany. The Munich bosses are apparently currently negotiating the transfer fee for the 38-year-old with Burnley FC.

The details of the contract between Bayern and Kompany have also yet to be finalised. A key point of Bayern’s offer to Kompany has now been revealed. According to Sky, Munich are offering Kompany a three-year contract until 2027.

In comparison: Julian Nagelsmann was given a five-year contract in 2021, but Bayern parted ways with the current national coach in March 2023. The FCB bosses then brought in Thomas Tuchel. He brought the season started by Nagelsmann to a close and was given a contract for a further two years.

Kompany relegated with Burnley

Tuchel did not stay until the end of his contract either. In February of this year, the club and coach announced that they would part ways at the end of the season. Bayern recently tried to convince Tuchel to turn his fortunes around, but in the end the parties were unable to reach an agreement. Both Tuchel and Nagelsmann were due high severance payments from Bayern.

A three-year contract for Kompany would be a leap of faith for Kompany, who is considered a great coaching talent but does not yet have many successes as a coach on his CV. Kompany was relegated from the English Premier League with Burnley FC. Before that, however, he also achieved promotion with the team. Before joining Burnley, Kompany coached RSC Anderlecht in Belgium. There he finished the 2021/22 season in third place in the championship play-offs and missed out on qualification for the Confeerence League. They then agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent.
