FC Bayern are looking to sign a new striker in the summer. One candidate is a Bundesliga striker who Borussia Dortmund is also after.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is almost certain to leave FC Bayern in the upcoming summer transfer window. The 35-year-old striker’s contract is due to expire, Bayern do not want to extend it and Choupo-Moting is likely to seek a new adventure with a club abroad. Clubs from Saudi Arabia and Qatar are said to be particularly interested.
According to BILD, Bayern are expected to sign a new striker in any case. The German record champions are still keeping an eye on Serhou Guirassy from VfB Stuttgart. There have already been several reports of Bayern’s interest in the Swabian attacker.
Guirassy is the second-best goalscorer in the Bundesliga this season behind FCB superstar Harry Kane. He has already scored 25 goals this season and has played a major part in Stuttgart’s Champions League qualification.
Dortmund also want Guirassy
The Guinea international still has a contract with VfB until 2026, but can leave the club for a fixed transfer fee of around €20 million due to a release clause. A good price – Guirassy’s current market value is estimated at €40 million by transfermarkt.de.
However, Bayern could face a transfer duel with a Bundesliga rival in the bidding for the 28-year-old: According to BILD, Guirassy is also a priority transfer target for Borussia Dortmund. The Champions League semi-finalists are also looking to strengthen their attack for the new season. In addition to BVB, numerous international clubs are also rumoured to be interested in Guirassy. Among others, AC Milan from Italy and Manchester United from the Premier League are rumoured to be interested in the goalscorer.
