While Bayern are working flat out to sign Ralf Rangnick, numerous FCB fans are trying to prevent this deal. Almost 15,000 people have already signed an online petition in favour of Thomas Tuchel staying. Those responsible in Munich have also taken note of the fan resistance.

What began as a „fun campaign“ has now become a real topic of conversation at FC Bayern. With the online petition: „We want Juppel (Thomas Tuchel) and not Rangnick!“, numerous Bayern fans have expressed their displeasure over the planned signing of Ralf Rangnick in the past few days. As of Saturday morning, more than 15,000 people have signed the petition.

In the description of the extraordinary petition, the decision to part ways with Tuchel at the end of the season is described as a „hair-raising decision“. According to the initiator of the petition, Rangnick „with all due respect, cannot hold a candle to Tuchel“.

As reported by tz, the Bayern bosses have realised that Rangnick is not the fan favourite. However, the decision has been made and will not be changed. Max Eberl & Co. still want to sign the 65-year-old, preferably as soon as possible. Tuchel staying is out of the question.

„A pleasing topic, but…“

And what does Tuchel say about the fan campaign? The 50-year-old feels flattered, but made it clear on Friday that this is a side issue that does not really interest him just a few days before the Champions League clash against Real Madrid: „Even if the topic is a pleasing one for me, it must not be a priority. The next eleven days can’t be about anything other than football. We have to collect points in the Bundesliga to get the best possible result, then it’s all about getting to the final of the Champions League. There is no capacity for anything else,“ he emphasised on Friday at the final press conference before the Bundesliga match against Frankfurt.
