Numerous coaches have been linked with FC Bayern in recent weeks. Following the rejection of Xabi Alonso and Julian Nagelsmann, Ralf Rangnick is now the clear favourite to succeed Thomas Tuchel. A return of Hansi Flick, on the other hand, does not appear to be an issue at Säbener Straße.
FC Bayern’s search for a coach has been extremely difficult in recent weeks. Several of the candidates rumoured in Munich have now committed themselves to their current club and some have even extended their contracts.
As a result, rumours have recently been circulating that Bayern are considering a possible interim solution with a view to signing an absolute dream candidate along the lines of Xabi Alonso or Jürgen Klopp in 2025.
Flick not an issue in Munich
In this context, there has been speculation about the return of triple coach Hansi Flick, among others. At the beginning of the week, kicker reported that talks were underway with the former national coach and that he could be considered as a possible interim solution.
According to BILD, however, a comeback for the 59-year-old has been ruled out. On the contrary, the head office of the German record champions would „shake their heads“ at such rumours. A renewed collaboration with Flick is by no means „under consideration“. He has other plans anyway, and Flick is rumoured to be interested in working in other European countries.
Will Rangnick move quickly now?
Bayern have decided on Ralf Rangnick for the coaching position at FC Bayern. FCB has made the 65-year-old a concrete offer. Now the ball is in Rangnick’s court. He has not yet decided whether he will swap his job as Austria’s national team coach after Euro 2024 for the coaching job at the German record champions.
