After FC Bayern’s embarrassing 3:2 defeat at 1. FC Heidenheim, Thomas Tuchel is once again at a loss after the game. At the end of the interview, he snaps at Sky reporter Michael Leopold.

As is so often the case after defeats, Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel was at a loss after the 3-2 defeat at newly promoted 1. FC Heidenheim.

When asked by Sky reporter Michael Leopold how such a result could happen, Tuchel replied curtly: „I have no idea.“

Tuchel then analysed the goals conceded by his team and also fell into a familiar pattern: he blamed his players.

„That was just a logical consequence of the first five minutes, the way we started the second half,“ said the 50-year-old: „We addressed that. That was clear. That’s just extremely careless and individually too weak in the duels.“

Tuchel continued: „We’re finding it difficult to maintain concentration and keep the level high. Be it within weeks or within games. Unfortunately, this is the next proof of that.“

Tuchel: „We still have two days to go“

With a view to the upcoming Champions League quarter-final first leg at Arsenal on Tuesday, Leopold Tuchel then asked how the team could now generate positive momentum.

Tuchel’s annoyed reply: „I don’t know now. I’ll know tomorrow. I’ll know the day after tomorrow. But now we’re standing here in front of the fans. It’s difficult to talk about positive momentum.“

Leopold followed up: „There has to be some kind of approach.“ Tuchel then barked at the Sky reporter: „Yes, but not now! We’re now standing in the Heidenheim fan curve. And I’m supposed to find positive momentum now? It’s ten minutes after the final whistle!“

The FCB coach continued angrily: „Yes, we’ll get him going. But not now. We’ll do it tomorrow, the day after tomorrow. We still have two days.“
