It is becoming increasingly likely that Alphonso Davies could leave FC Bayern Munich for Real Madrid in the summer. Theo Hernández from AC Milan is being rumoured as a possible successor for the German record champions. However, FCB are now rumoured to be facing stiff competition for the Frenchman.
Theo Hernández has been seen as a possible successor to Alphonso Davies at left-back for weeks. It is also clear that this transfer would cost Bayern a lot. In addition, there are now apparently other contenders for the Munich club.
According to transfer expert Matteo Moretto, there is great interest in Hernández. Several clubs from the English Premier League and Saudi Arabia are said to have enquired about the 26-year-old. However, Moretto did not name any specific clubs.
However, the French international is not currently in negotiations with another club anyway. According to CalcioMercato, AC Milan are still hoping for an extension with their player.
Will FC Bayern dig deep into their pockets for Hernández?
According to milannews.it, Milan are demanding a transfer fee of 100 million for their star. That would mean the Munich club would have to fork out quite a lot of money to the Italians. If Davies were to leave for Real Madrid in the summer, Bayern could probably earn a maximum of 50 million euros.
Should a team come up with the idea of putting that huge sum on the table for Hernández, he would be the most expensive defender of all time. Josko Gvardiol currently holds the record with his €90 million move from RB Leipzig to Manchester City.
However, Moretto is only expecting a transfer fee of 70 to 80 million for Hernández.
