Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is expected to leave FC Bayern at the end of the season. Now a real top club wants to sign the 34-year-old.
As transfer expert Ekrem Konur reports, FC Barcelona are currently preparing an offer for the experienced attacker. According to information from Sky, there is a clear tendency for Choupo-Moting’s contract with Bayern, which is due to expire, not to be extended. The striker would then be available on a free transfer in the summer.
According to Konur, the Catalans are tempting the Cameroon international with a one-year contract until 2025 plus an option for a further season.
Numerous clubs interested in Choupo-Moting
However, Barcelona are not the only interested party. There are many other clubs from Saudi Arabia, the English Premier League and the Italian Serie A who are all interested in signing the Hamburg-born player.
Choupo-Moting has built up a good reputation as a backup striker in recent years. In 116 competitive matches for the German record champions, he has scored 38 goals and provided a further 11 assists.
Even if Bayern bosses are no longer planning to keep Choupo-Moting, there is still a small chance that the attacker will remain in Munich, according to Sky. The prerequisite for this would be that the new FCB coach is in favour of the 34-year-old staying.
