FC Bayern are bracing themselves for the departure of Alphonso Davies, who is likely on the verge of a transfer to Real Madrid. As a result, the Munich club are apparently keeping an eye on a left-back from the Premier League.
Are Bayern looking for a successor to Alphonso Davies in the English Premier League?
According to information from the English portal FootballTransfers, the Ukrainian international Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal FC is on the German record champions‘ list.
However, another Premier League team is also said to be keeping an eye on the Arsenal star, according to the report: Newcastle United.
Zinchenko moved from ManCity to Arsenal
Arsenal are said to be demanding a transfer fee of around 45 million euros for the 27-year-old, whose contract with the Gunners runs until 2026.
Zinchenko moved from Manchester City to Arsenal in London in 2022. He has been struggling with calf problems this season. As a result, he has missed eight games since the end of December.
Munich also have Theo Hernandez from AC Milan on their radar as a possible alternative for Davies. However, the brother of ex-Bayern professional Lucas Hernandez would probably cost considerably more than Zinchenko: Milan’s asking price has recently been reported to be between 70 and 100 million euros.
Davies, for his part, is said to have already agreed a transfer with Real Madrid. The Canadian’s contract in Munich runs until 2025, so if Bayern bosses are unable to agree a transfer fee with Real next summer, Davies could leave Bayern on a free transfer after another season at the Isar.
Bayern are facing a transfer offensive in the summer. There could be a shake-up in the Munich squad – it is very likely that a new left-back will be needed due to the Davies situation.
