Following the extension with Manuel Neuer, Bayern are on the verge of extending Thomas Müller’s expiring contract. According to BILD, the Munich club has agreed to continue working with the 34-year-old beyond the summer of 2024.
Agreement before Christmas! Thomas Müller will sign a new contract with FC Bayern. According to BILD, Müller will receive a new contract until the summer of 2025. While there have been many rumors and speculation about the sporting future of the DFB international in recent weeks, both sides have now reached an agreement.
The deal is set to be made official this week. Müller will then also put his signature to the new contract.
Müller has been a professional at Bayern since 2009
The 34-year-old’s current contract in Munich only runs until next summer. Müller has been playing for FC Bayern since 2009 and is a true club legend. The attacking all-rounder has played 684 games for the professionals to date, scoring 279 goals and providing 266 assists. With Bayern, Müller has won the German championship twelve times, the German Cup six times and the Champions League twice (2013 and 2020).
Most recently, the 2014 world champion was given relatively little playing time by coach Thomas Tuchel. This season, the striker is oscillating between the substitutes‘ bench and the starting eleven, but is ready to fight for his place at FCB: „I think you’ve already seen that I’m convinced that I can not only play a bit part, but also give something to the whole squad. Now I just have to convince the coach. I haven’t succeeded as often as I’d hoped. But the coach makes the decisions, you have to accept that,“ explained Müller after the 3-0 win against Stuttgart.
