Michael Olise has long been one of Bayern’s key players. Christoph Freund now comments on the Frenchman’s future and possible contract negotiations.
Michael Olise has developed into a world-class player at FC Bayern. Consequently, the Munich club is very interested in securing the 24-year-old’s long-term commitment to the club.
Recently, there have been repeated reports of a possible early contract extension. Olise’s current contract runs through 2029, yet club officials are already considering the future of the attacking star.
Now, sporting director Christoph Freund has spoken to Sky about the situation—emphasizing above all that Bayern is under no time pressure.
“Michael has made incredible progress with us and is currently one of the best players in the world. We’re very happy that he plays for us. He’s under contract until 2029, so there’s no pressure. He feels very at home at FC Bayern, and we’re in constant communication with him. As I said, there’s no time pressure,” said the Austrian.
Freund remains demonstratively relaxed regarding Olise
While Freund confirms that they are in regular contact with Olise, he leaves open whether concrete negotiations regarding a new contract are already underway. The message is nevertheless clear: FC Bayern wants to keep the Frenchman for the long term but, given the current length of his contract, sees no reason for hasty decisions.

It had previously been reported that Munich could significantly increase Olise’s salary in the event of a contract extension. Salary figures of more than 20 million euros per year were being discussed.
On the field as well, Olise’s standing within the club has once again changed significantly. Under Vincent Kompany, the Frenchman has long been one of the most important players on the roster and is now seen not only as a key performer but also as one of the cornerstones for the coming years.
