Good news from Säbener Straße: Jamal Musiala took another important step toward his comeback on Tuesday. The 23-year-old is back on the training field following his muscle tear and has resumed individual training.
Musiala was injured at the start of the international break. It was particularly disappointing: Jürgen Klopp had planned to start the Bayern star against the Netherlands, but the attacking player suffered a muscle tear during warm-ups. He has been sidelined ever since.
As reported by *kicker*, Musiala was able to resume individual training on the field for the first time on Tuesday. However, it remains unclear when he will be able to fully return to team training and be available to Vincent Kompany again.
Bayern’s training sessions are filling up again
Regardless of Musiala’s situation, training at Säbener Straße is picking up steam again after the unusually long break. While Munich celebrated Oktoberfest for nearly two weeks, the record champions did not play a single competitive match. Kompany had temporarily given the players who hadn’t traveled to join their national teams time off.
Training has resumed since Monday. Among those on the field for the first session were Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich. Joshua Kimmich, Jonathan Tah, and Nathaniel Brown were also back in action after their shortened DFB training camp.
They were joined by Luis Díaz and Alphonso Davies. Both had been given time off by their national team coaches and were therefore able to return to Munich early as well.
The roster will continue to fill out in the coming days. Josip Stanisic and Harry Kane are still on international duty with their national teams. Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano are also expected back shortly.
The players from Jürgen Klopp’s second DFB call-up are also returning gradually. They include, among others, Aleksandar Pavlovic, Jonas Urbig, Serge Gnabry, and Lennart Karl.
Musiala is in danger of missing a busy October

With Musiala, however, patience is still required. While the fact that the 23-year-old is back on the training field is a positive sign, there is still no concrete timeline for his return.
According to reports, Musiala could even miss the entire month of October. That would be particularly disappointing for Bayern. After the international break, Kompany’s team faces a truly grueling schedule with eight competitive matches in just 25 days.
The Bundesliga action resumes as early as Saturday with an away match against FC Augsburg. This will be followed by several high-profile matches, including a clash against Arsenal in the Champions League and games against Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.
This makes Musiala’s return as soon as possible all the more crucial. However, Bayern won’t take any unnecessary risks with their star forward. The first step has now been taken: Musiala is back on the field and working toward his comeback.
