Harry Kane and the English national team faced Croatia today in the Nations League at the early kickoff time of 6 p.m. The Three Lions were playing on the road.
England was determined to win the match against Croatia and make a statement. After all, their performances in the Nations League so far had been a mixed bag.
But on this Saturday evening, the English had a very good day. Croatia didn’t seem quite up to par from the start, and England capitalized on that with a stellar performance. Harry Kane played a key role in the 7-0 victory on multiple occasions.
Kane Scores and Sets Up Goals: England Puts on a Spectacular Show
It was the Bayern Munich striker who, in his inimitable style, scored the 1-0 goal just seven minutes in. He edged out his defender by exactly the right few centimeters, received a perfect pass, and finished with clinical precision. That set the tone for the rest of the match.

However, Croatia’s response to the early setback was, at times, disastrous. By halftime, England was already leading 4-0, with Arsenal star Bukayo Saka also finding the net for coach Thomas Tuchel’s team.
In the second half, Kane scored again. His goal to make it 5–0 finally sealed the deal—though the game was essentially already over. Things got even better for the Ballon d’Or contender, though, as Kane also set up a goal for Saka.
The final 7–0 score came as a complete shock to Croatia and Bayern star Josip Stanisic, who had to leave the field early. Meanwhile, Kane and the English team reaffirmed their ambitions. Former Bayern coach Tuchel has, in fact, already come under some criticism in England. He’s being viewed with particular skepticism, especially since the next major tournament is the 2028 European Championship on home soil. The goal is to make that tournament as successful as possible. With Kane in top form like he was today, that’s definitely achievable.
