It’s also the earliest possible rematch between the two teams. Bayern and Stuttgart last faced off in late May in the DFB Cup final in Berlin. Back then, the record champions prevailed 3-0, with Harry Kane scoring all three goals.
The last Bundesliga matchup in Munich also went to FC Bayern. In April, Vincent Kompany’s team defeated VfB 4-2. The Munich side has now gone eight years without a loss against Stuttgart at the Allianz Arena.
