It’s no secret that FC Bayern is one of the best and most successful clubs in the world. The record-holding champion has big ambitions again this season and aims to win as many titles as possible. But it’s not just the team’s performance on the field that’s impressive—Bayern also excels financially.
In the 2024–25 season, FC Bayern posted the third-highest revenue of any soccer club worldwide. That’s an impressive feat, especially when you consider the financial strength of other teams in Europe.
This is shown by a study from the auditing and consulting firm Deloitte, which, as usual, does not include transfer revenues. The global top 20 of the “Deloitte Football Money League” also includes Borussia Dortmund (12th) and VfB Stuttgart (18th).
Bayern Sets the Standard in Business
For Bayern, this ranking is by no means insignificant; after all, it also shows how the club stacks up against international competitors. According to the study, FC Bayern’s revenue rose by a solid 12 percent compared to the previous year, reaching 860.6 million euros. This is primarily attributable to higher revenue from media rights and increased commercial revenue.
In world soccer, only Real Madrid (1.2 billion euros) and FC Barcelona (974.8 million euros) generated more revenue. This means that Bayern has come out on top against its English rivals, all of whom receive significantly more TV revenue than the record champion from Munich.
For Bayern, however, it is also very important to be in a strong financial position. Since no investor in the background can simply make up for shortfalls on a whim, the club must be well managed financially so that—as was the case this summer—it can categorically rule out the sale of a player like Michael Olise.
Furthermore, the money is necessary to offer top contracts to top players like Harry Kane. Only in this way can Bayern remain competitive in the long term.
